1.  Defining Virtual Reality:  Breaking It Down - It Ain't New

1. An artificial, yet credible, computer generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or of an environment rich in detail.
2. The essence of Virtual Reality is the requirement that the person interacting with it suspend their state of disbelief.
3. Interaction occurs via a headset, and/or gloves with built-in sensors.  To satisfy the requirements of Virtual Reality, interaction must be:

• Believable*;
• Interactive*;
• Computer-generated*;
• Explorable*;
• Immersive*;

1.  Virtual Reality as a technology is not new.  It's been around approximately 30 years and used extensively for scientific investigation, training of airline and fighter pilots, surgeons and high risk occupations requiring high degree of hand eye coordination or physical prowess.


2.  If It Ain't New, Why Has VR Porn Taken So Long...?

1.  There we were in Begging For Porn  blabbing about how the porn industry rapidly embraces every new technology and then sets the benchmark for its technical specifications, ensuring that consumers embrace the technology.......and then we discovered that porn had pretty much ignored VR, until now.


2. There's a simple explanation.....porn producers were not only staking their turf on the internet, but were developing and encouraging both the online payment and the viewing technologies.  The reality was that porn was always aware of VR, its uses and implications.  At some point, porn would return to VR.  That time is now.


3.   VR Porn Is Scary Real...

1.  This is what happened when Naughty America, one of the US's largest porn producers, invited participants to slip on the Samsung Gear VR headset at an electronic show:

"As the Naughty America title screen faded away, I found myself transported into a bedroom. Kneeling before me was a female porn star who was seductively talking dirty to me. I looked down and saw some guy's muscular body. Well, that's not mine, I thought to myself. I was confused. Whose body was this? Then I realized, I was now this guy.

The porn star brought in another female friend, and the next thing I knew, they were both naked and performing oral sex on this VR guy, err, me, turning the party into a raunchy threesome.

Even though I was conscious that the two porn stars weren't actually there and that the guy's body wasn't really mine, I still thought they were real. The more the porn girls jiggled their breasts in my face and rubbed their butts against me, the more I internalized being the VR porn guy. I felt my face get flushed as they showed me their, ahem, skills. 

Things got really weird, that's all I'm going to say.......

During another VR porn video, a porn star leaned in so close to lock lips with me that I recoiled back because her VR presence felt so real. In a different VR porn video, where I dropped into a female body, a male porn star who was thrusting into "me" was so up in my personal space, I swear I smelled his armpits. There wasn't, of course, any smell.

Like many other VR experiences, VR porn is undeniably immersive...(Many time uncomfortably so)"
