Hey FuelMix

Been a while since I'd dropped into Ni Chome.  Showed up Monday 8 October 2012 about 4:30pm.  Several guys were already there because the place opens at 11am.  Mostly GAMs in their 20s and 30s, slim types with a couple of chunky ones. Nothing spectacular until a hot light brown guy walked in (maybe Indian or Pakistani dunno for sure), really great gym muscled body and cute face.  He had about 5 GAM guys after him at once.  They mobbed him in the corridor.  3 of the GAMs bundled him into a room, kept the lights on and the door open and started to service him so everybody else could watch.  That guy really was hot eye candy and made the visit worthwhile. Pity he left about 6pm.

There was a steady stream of other GAMs coming in after work in their 20s and 30s. They were average looking,  Got action with a couple of them, so no complaints there, especially the slutty 20 something GAM who said he liked to squeal like a woman !! LOL

Will probably go back again.  At HK$80.00 on weekdays it's still reasonably priced.

Received from a reader yesterday in response to FuelMix's review in Ni Chome 8. At FuelMix's request, the reader sent a second e-mail providing additional information.  The narrative in italics was prepared by FuelMix and  is the result of the combined e-mails, using the reader's own words.

Hi, 

I thought I [would] give my 2 cents worth of what I think of the management at the above place.

I am a fit 43 years. 5' 9" tall,  Chinese Malaysian. 

I went to this place after reading so much of it from your blog and thought gave it a try.  The first time that I went, was last Friday evening [ 20 April 2012 ] without any problem entering. [ It was ]  a breeze and I had a good time making some friends.  

That was the reason for me wanting to go back.  2 days later I went back on Sunday [ 22 April 2012 ] 4pm and this bitch at the door refused entry and commented that I must be a member and demanded that I show my membership card. Obviously, he is not allowing me to enter and keep saying bye bye....The staff member was a slightly chubby Chinese who cannot speak English.

The other guy who was with him - another stocky guy -  was visibly embarassed as he was the one who allowed me in the first time I went.

I do not understand this system.....is this a membership place or isn't?

On the other hand, the guy at this spa along Prince Edward road was a darling....

I am a tourist. I have asked my friends and they say nichome might be choosy in who they want to allow in. 

This membership thing is a whole lot of crab!!![sic]

That is wierd. This is the first time FuelMix has heard of NiChome claiming to be a "members" only joint.

Your description of the 2 staff members is correct.  Only the stocky one (the one who let you in) deals with customers.  The chubby one just sits in the corner.  How and why the chubby one took the initiative in fractured English is baffling.

In the past, there were rumours that NiChome was running a racist policy or was not allowing people they thought were too old.  However, FuelMix has personally seen different coloured guys there, as well as fat grey white guys, typical of what would be found in Central Escalator.  He has also seen moderately fit middle aged GAMs there.

There may be a legal grey area going on:  Gay saunas in this town are registered either as Fitness Centres or Male Bathouses.  If they are registered as Fitness Centres, theoretically they might be able to claim "membership status".  Other than the long defunct Gameboys in Wanchai that made a note of customers ID Card numbers, (or passports if they were tourists like you), actually handed out a "Member's Card" and  required members to show it every time they entered, FuelMix has not seen any other gay sauna around here hand out something so explicit or operate a controlled procedure.  The discount coupons don't count.

FuelMix suspects that those saunas operating an age, looks or racist exclusion policy are making it up, justifying it on the basis that they are a club.  While they may be legally registered as one i.e. a Fitness Centre, they would not have the daily documentation to prove it.

These guys are getting away with it knowing fully well that the vast majority of customers will be too shy, scared and embarrassed to handle the publicity if they reported them to the authorities.  As usual, Lamestream Gay Media in this city is still stuck in the "aren't we a happy, Film Festival-watching, party-going, cafe-grazing, all-inclusive "community"....?  In other words, they've yet to grow up and confront the more murky and discriminatory aspects of "the community's" commercial practices.

Your treatment was a disgrace - as an individual and as a tourist visiting Very Rich Megacity.  Should you visit us again, you might try the following gay saunas that are unlikely to engage in the behaviour of which you complained:

• Central Escalator;
• Action;
• Gateway;
• QQ Fitness;
• Chaps;
• Galaxy;
• Alexander;
• ClubHouzz
• Colony;

Ironically, Colony Sauna (the spa in Prince Edward road where you ended up) and its sister, Chaps have both been boycotted by FuelMix for over a year - not because of an exclusion policy, but because of bitchy attitude by the staff towards customers.

It's one of the strange quirks of the gay sauna sub-culture......taking a long break from a venue, can yield a major Bang for your Fuck Buck.  That's what FuelMix discovered when he and his Corpus Cavernosa penetrated Ni Chome Sauna after 4 months.  

The place looked the same, the lighting was as dim as ever,  lots of people, virtually all were ugly chinks, most had attitude but some were surprisingly friendly and tactile (the better looking but utterly attitudinal chinks can be found in My Way Platinum - good luck getting action there if you're not a chink), there were a couple of Fugly whites in the showers swapping spit with newly banged chinks, lots of chinks fluttering by covering their pubes with both hands muttering *tsk, tsk*..........pretty much par for the course in Ni Chome.  

FuelMix was tempted to write the whole thing off as a warehouse for yellow mannequins.  He'd already done more laps around the place than a Formula One circuit.  His feet hurt and he  was heading into the pits instead of Pole Position.  

And then it all perked up for FuelMix.........courtesy of a horny manager of another sauna (featured in this blog) who dropped in as a customer.  He grinned lascivously as he fixed FuelMix with the Look of Lust.  "Long time no see!....heheheheh....." he said, sinking to his knees in the Steam Room.  He couldn't say much else 'coz his mouth was full of.....well.....FuelMix.  All FuelMix remembers was ending up in a private room with said manager aiming to please - and doing it very well - twice. 

It was certainly worth the wait.........but hold on fags.......there's more......Freshly showered and thinking, "WTF just happened here.....?? In NiChome....??!!.....FuelMix found himself sucked into (take that anyway you want) a major 5-some in another private room, also featuring said manager plus 3 others (who arrived later,  were better looking and more muscular than the standard dishes).

"Whoa...." thought FuelMix, admittedly a tad wobbly in the shower, "WTF just happened here....?? In NiChome....??!!"

Friendly dude at reception. I love the idea of nude saunas but they don't really work when most of the clientele wander around with their hands cupped over their genitals and take pains to apologise every time these brush past you.

Strangely, one of the best features of this place is that it isn't massive. You can pretty much make an assessment of who is hot in about 5 minutes which means no wasted time. But if there is no one halfway decent looking you kind of wonder why you bothered as they have TVB on the TV and only Chinese-language gossip mags to read.

I asked the friendly owner if he had many Indian/Paki/Desi boys in but he said only occasionally. He said maybe to try Rainbow Sauna but I didn't see any there either. Does anyone know the best place for finding hotties from the subcontinent? I have had some of my best sexual experiences with Indian, Paki, Islander and Maori guys.

Take heart.  More and more Indian and Pakistani guys, particularly professionals from the UK working in Central, are flooding into Very Rich Megacity and showing up at the gay saunas.  FuelMix noticed this trend over 2 years ago at the now defunct Towel Club which, on Saturday afternoons, attracted some gorgeous brown guys speaking perfect English.

UK Indian and Pakistani guys have also been spotted at Central Escalator (it provides a convenient break from the office) and sometimes at Alexander.

As for Maori guys, forget it.

FuelMix dropped into Ni Chome for an update.  It was a Friday evening between 6:30pm and 7:45pm  and he wanted to see if the info he'd been getting from other fags panned out.

When it comes to getting action, Ni Chome can be hit and miss even if there are lots of guys in the premises.  Like its (grubby) gay sauna neighbour around the corner, Galaxy,  guys come streaming in every few minutes because the price is cheap (HK$80.00 or HK$90.00 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays).  It’s mostly a 30 something office GAM crowd with a hefty selection of attitudinal chink twinks with brittle slim bodies.

Some guys are built, but they’re not good looking and there’s a lot of attitude. Indeed, some  muscular guys in Ni Chome are downright Fugly.  Whites and foreigners can and do show up.  Think Central Escalator Sauna-meets-Tsim Sha Tsui to get a good idea of the kind of whites that show up.  FuelMix has seen them get action.

Unless the fag is extraordinarily lucky, Ni Chome is a place where the fag has to stand around and wait………..and wait…………and wait………even if the joint is packed and all the rooms are occupied.

To be fair, it is possible to have a great time at Ni Chome, but it won’t happen consistently. It may be cheap to get in, but if there's a high failure rate, 80 bucks for nothing is expensive.

Be aware that Ni Chome empties out quickly. It closes at 11pm, but the window of action opportunity is actually between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. On previous occasions on weekdays, FuelMix observed the place is deserted by 8pm.  On weekends by about 9:30pm.

Dear FuelMix

I went to Ni chome on Saturday afternoon about 5:30pm.  The place was very full with lots of  GAMs.  Some of the GAMs were muscular and gym types.  

There [were]  also some white guys in their 30s and  3 very hot gym built Pakistani ? or Indian ? guys (I'm not sure which) in their 20s or early 30s.  It was [the]  first time I'd seen them there so I hope they come back.  Some people say those guys are from California Fitness in Tsim Sha Tsui which gets many muscular brown guys.  I hope more of them come to gay saunas in town.

There were so many people there that I had trouble finding a locker.  The staff do not give a locker number.  They give  a padlock and  key and tell you to take any locker that's free.

All private cabins were full and so lots of people standing around in the corridors.  It was  difficult to move around.  There is some attitude there from the GAMs but I got action with GAMs and GWMs.  I touched one of the muscular brown guy's body a few times.  He was very nice and polite but he wanted other muscular guys to play with. 

I think many people go to Ni Chome because the price of 90.00 on the weekend is quite reasonable compare[d] to other saunas in town.

The Clientele 

FuelMix saw a couple of middle aged white guys there who were obviously getting action.  But the majority of the clientele were local chink fags in their 20s and 30s. They looked like lower to mid-range office professionals and were not buff. Most were slim to slightly gym toned.  Most were below average to look at and many were downright Fugly.

There were several gym built muscular chink fags there.  They stood out because of their sun tans and ridiculous “I’m so macho” jarhead, military-inspired haircuts, that were both extreme and dreadful on the back and sides.  They all seems to have gone to the same barber who botched their collective attempt to be str8 looking, str8 acting.  The look was completed with a dog tag.  In some cases, the muscleboys had pierced nipples and cockrings.

Truth be told, the muscleboys were not that handsome and the majority were stocky or disproportionately developed.  But the slim chinks were in heaven at the sight of muscle and cruised them aggressively.

The chink muscleboys were initially, not amused on seeing a foreign muscular dude like FuelMix.   It wasn't helped when one of the staff members came into the Locker Room to watch FuelMix change,  all the while smiling and nodding approvingly.  One of the white fags also came over to croon.  Consequently, there was no shortage of attitudinal leering by the slim and muscled chinks and it took a while for FuelMix to get action.  


Eventually FuelMix got serviced 3 times by a succession of slim chinks and happily kept the room door open and the light on so that the dog-tagged muscleboys could see what they were missing.  It was only after the show that one or two of the muscleboys grinned and waved at FuelMix as he left.  Presumably, FuelMix had earned his stripes.  Go figure.

Getting There 

This one is in Tsim Sha Tsui, near the corner of Nathan Road and Haiphong Road. It’s part of a cluster of gay saunas in the vicinity (ABC, Galaxy and Ni chome). All of them can be reached from the same MTR exit and all are within walking distance of Star Ferry. 

The building is easy to find, it’s directly opposite the southern part of Kowloon Park. There’s an old security guard sitting at a desk at the foot of the stairs. Ni chome  is located on the 8^th Floor. Take the antiquated elevator or walk up the stairs and have a quick peek at the shops on the different floors.

There’s a brown unmarked door on the 8^th Floor. Look up and you’ll see a camera looking at you. The front door is actually open.  Just push it and enter.  The Reception counter is on your Left. The dude on duty doesn’t speak much English, but seemed polite enough.  If you’re new to the place, he’ll mention that it’s a Nude Sauna.

Decor And Layout

Locker Room

Once the cash is paid and the towel is handed out, push the door just behind you. It opens right into the narrow locker room and the shower. The décor is all in dark brown, walls and floors included.  The first impressions are of an RV decked out in naugha hide and leatherette. The locker room is close and intimate, you can easily reach out and touch someone.

There are 78 lockers there, of differing sizes, although for some reason, the larger ones couldn’t store shoes properly.

The Locker Room is very dimly lit.  In fact, the entire premises are dimly lit, save for harsh lighting just above the sink, near the entrance.

An incoming fag can expect to be stared at while changing.  In addition to being dimly lit, the premises are a bit dinky so the fags have to stand somewhere.  Many are propped up against the Lockers.

The Wet Area

Step into the dimly lit showers and wonder what the hell a disco ball is doing there, hanging from the ceiling. It’s a tiny shower area, and FuelMix got rimmed by a chink fag, while the fags in the Locker Room watched.  Shower pressure is adequate, although it could be stronger and the temperature adjusts easily.

To the left of the shower area are 2 toilets.  They can be a bit swampy since they share the same drain with the showers.

The to the left of the toilets is the Steam Room.  It’s also in black, heats up nicely and is a pretty good square size.  It has a small partition.  Predictably, there was group action going on.

The TV Lounge

Just off the locker room is the TV lounge. Again, it’s dimly lit and has sofas, a water cooler and a single computer station.  It also has naked attitudinal chink fags posing there or vainly attempting to flip through the naked gay mags in atrocious lighting.

The Dark Area 

Turn sharp left at the end of the Locker Room and there’s a small dark passage. This is the hidden gem of Ni-Chome. It’s an F-shaped corridor with a number of surprisingly large private rooms with vinyl mattresses and pillows. There are strip mirrors along the sides adding to the visual enjoyment of fuck action. All rooms have condoms and lubes and paper towels. Some have porn screens in them. All rooms are big enough for groups.

While the rooms may be roomy, the corridors of the Dark Area are not and the general ambience is one of claustrophobia.  Depending on the time of day, there may be tons of chink fags propped up against the wall, many with attitude and the universal head swivel.  Since the place is so dark and crowded, it can be hard to zero in on somebody.  The best advice is to scope them in the Locker Room and decide there if the fag is a Fugly (and there are tons of them in Ni chome) or potentially doable.  Then figure out a way of tracking them in the Dark Area.

Hey Fuelmix,

Just started reading some of your reviews of saunas and decided that I'd visit Ni-Chome. 

Went with a mate, at about 8:15 on a Monday evening, there was a mix of Filipino, Indian, Chinks and the one GWM. Got some group action with my mate starting off fucking me doggy style when all of a sudden, our room was filled with at least 5 other men in line to have me suck them off. Had a great evening and hit the showers dripping with cum. Loved the locker area; had several men brush past me with their cocks just walking by.

Must say, the clientele is generally in the late 20s to mid/late 30s...nothing that shouts "I want a piece of that!" or "I want you deep inside me / in my throat"........

For the entrance fee of 60 bucks after 8:00 PM, I would definitely revisit.
