1.  However furtive the cruising and regardless of its legality, it always involves Voyeurism, Exhibitionism and Narcissism.  That's because as we pointed out in Part 4, cruising can be carried out anywhere, even from one's living room window.

2. It generally follows that in cruising:

• muscle boys will wanna show off the hours spent in the gym;
• guys with the big cocks will flaunt them;
• skinny twinks will look for skinny twinks or seek to worship a muscle boy;
• older guys will play with older guys or look for a younger guy;
• older guys will stand around smiling wistfully;

• married guys will pretend they are there by accident and just looking ;  OR
• married guys will be extremely aggressive cruisers; 
• wherever the venue, there will always be those "who get the party started".  Whether they're gym built, twink, average, fugly, fat, into fetish, kink or raunch, submissive, dominant or elderly, Exhibitionism is a strong and common streak across the board.  And inherent in that Exhibitionism, is both Voyeurism and Narcissism.  At some point during cruising, there will always be an audience, even if most of them are rejected;
• some guys will strictly limit themselves to a specific activity for example, just looking, just touching, just kissing, just handjob, just blowjob, just exposing themselves.

• the combination of Voyeurism, Exhibitionism and Narcissism, the anonymity of the audience (notwithstanding that faces may be familiar), the guaranteed audience, the choice of venues, the admiration and the general Code of Silence, is not only a heady combination, but downright addictive and mesmerizing.....it is THE fundamental attraction of cruising.

3.  If we are correct in our assertions above and that cruising venues exist everywhere (and are only limited by imagination),  it's easy to see that the ubiquitous nature of the Web and the spycam (usually a mobile phone or a hidden device), are a logical extension of the Voyeurism, Exhibitionism and Narcissism inherent in cruising.  There are no shortage of sites advertising gay cruising caught on spycam.

4.  But the Web has taken it further.......not only does the entire act of cruising play to a larger and global audience (with the option of real time), but what was historically an anonymous and furtive act, born out of desperation and necessity, has become a recreational addiction for its viewers and created either deliberate or unwitting celebrity for the performers.  It is the ultimate reality show where nothing is hidden.
