7.  True Love Via Cruising Or In The Saunas...?

1.  If cruising venues exist everywhere (some hiding in plain sight not listed in guide books and web sites), then it follows that the opportunity to stumble from a casual encounter into true love must be more prevalent than many fags realize.  Force of habit is the only thing sending them back to the same parks, shopping malls, toilets and saunas.

2.  As we observed in Principles of Faggotry 51:

1.   Fags like to think they’re always looking for something new  - new fashions, new dance tracks, new clubs, new underwear, new slang, new drugs, a new guy.....

2.   But…..when they hang out in a chat room, a hookup app,  or surf porn, hit the bars, the streets, the toilets, the parks, the beaches, the shopping malls and the saunas looking for another new sexual encounter, they’re just repeating an old habit.

3.  In Principles of Faggotry 64 we said:

Fags will frequently and knowingly take the risk of exposing themselves to others in back alleys, public toilets, buses, staircases and online, yet hardly ever knowingly take the risk of exposing their authentic self to themselves.

4.  There are 5 drivers behind that statement:

• the fag is still in denial as to the true extent of his sexuality;
• the fag is in need of validation - not necessarily a bad thing, so long as it isn't chronic.  Cruising by its nature, is attention-seeking and a temporary validation of one's sexual worth.  In moderation, it can be healthy and fun;
• the fag is using cruising as a distraction or evasion from some personal, professional, financial or emotional responsibility;
• the fag is cheating on somebody - with or without permission;
• the fag has convinced himself that his casual encounters must be "anonymous";

5.  Exposing one's authentic self to oneself, blows open the possibility that an intial casual encounter, might have the potential to morph into something more meaningful.  One of our readers submitted the details of their experience which started in a sauna:

6. In another post, From A Reader In Love, we found out how one reader's "friends" were reacting to the realization that he was now in a monogamous relationship with someone who'd cruised him in a bar.

7. In Talking To Adam 12, we highlighted the angst faced by someone who had a boyfriend.  Both were sleeping around, both would hit the saunas by themselves (but sometimes together) and he was terrified he'd run into this BF at the sauna.  He was desperate for monogamy but was too scared to raise the issue.
