Woohoo!!  Fags from the Not-So-Golden-State in God's Own Country are shrieking and farting with delight.  The infamous Proposition 8 (a ballot that passed whereby marriage was defined as a union between a man and a woman) has been declared unconstitutional by a (gay) Federal Judge.  See the report in the Los Angeles Times dated 4 August 2010 entitled, "Ruling Against Prop. 8 Could Lead To Federal Precedent On Gay Marriage"

The Judge's 136 page decision, right now the porn-du-jour of every fag claiming to have a "right" and a social conscience, is being studied and will no doubt form the basis of an appeal that ends up at the Supreme Court, who would probably prefer that it didn't come their way.

Briefly, the Judge's reasoning was that there was no state interest in differentiating between opposite-sex and same sex unions (FuelMix agrees, subject to his comments below); Proposition 8 violated the principle of equal protection and non-discrimination (FuelMix says probably); there was no rational basis for excluding fags from marriage (FuelMix says strictly speaking, "Yes", but there are other considerations why fags should avoid "marriage"); that the evidence showed compellingly that the only impediment to fag marriage was on religious and moral grounds.

Amen.

This is what FuelMix has been bitching about in his previous posts on Gay Marriage.  The institution of "Marriage" is the exclusive turf of The Morality Militia.  It boggles FuelMix's pretty head why fags would knowingly trip into this minefield, when they could have a Separate-But-Equal legal regime via Civil Union or Domestic Partnerships - and The Morality Militia couldn't touch them.  Legal challenges aside, fags are attempting to commit Faggotry to a never-ending morality war in which the same arguments will be re-hashed for generations.

FuelMix thinks that's irresponsible.

Further, FuelMix has trouble fully understanding the Judge's remark that ".....domestic partnerships exist solely to differentiate same-sex unions from marriage". So what...? For the last 30 years the political agenda of fags has been to differentiate themselves as a separate and distinct culture.  From a philosophical and political point of view it just makes no sense why fags should now be clamouring to merge into the very cultural values from which they fought so hard to distinguish themselves. 

Nobody has yet satisfactorily explained to FuelMix why Separate-But-Equal is inferior to "marriage".  That's why FuelMix is fazed by the Judge's other remark that marriage is "culturally superior".

FuelMix is prepared to stick his cock out and predict the following:

• Very few fags will actually "marry" or enter into a "domestic partnership"  Most will be lesbians.  The fag lifestyle is simply not structured for meaningful commitment.  It is based on anonymity, shallow compliments and deceit. For fag marriage to take off, it will require a tectonic shift in generally accepted fag behaviour and fag values.  For example, is the monthly joint grocery budget going to include amphetamines?  How many guys can each of them fuck on Boys Nite Out?  Who's gonna help little Johnny with his New Math in the evenings when a fag needs his beauty sleep for the after-party? And when Johnny turns 18 and brings home those college cuties, is it permissible to hit on them or invite them to a "party"?

• Many of the fags who marry or enter into domestic partnerships, will be gold diggers with a history of escorting and lap dancing.  Expect a whole new slew of sensational tabloid journalism and Reality TV shows themed around a "Gay Bachelor" eeewwww......

• If the average ghetto fag embraced "marriage" or"domestic partnership" with the fervour he claims to have, the Fag Ghetto, already teetering economically, would collapse.  No more cruising in the parks, no more hanging out at Starbucks tyring to make eye contact with the gym hottie, a curtailment of sauna activities, bars and raves, the obligation to account for one's movements and expenditure, telling the truth (gasp....), showing up as promised, not changing mobile phones to avoid taking calls...............And the whole thing is based on "commitment" HA....!! enough said.

• Those fags that do enter into "marriage" or "domestic partnerships" will be seen as "elitist", "holier than thou" and "smug".  Think FuelMix is exaggerating?  When was the last time a fag passed up an opportunity to be judgmental?  It'll be the start of a whole new gossip circuit - as well as backstabbing attempts to wreck the union out of sheer spite.

• There will be a new breed of "Closet Fags" - i.e. those in a marriage or domestic partnership who choose to say nothing to their peers and may even live separately to keep up the charade.

• A new Fag Ghetto will emerge. This will be a gated community for educated, affluent fags in a stable relationship.  That community will provide the economic support for a new class of shops and services e.g pricier fag restaurants and bars exclusively for couples, couple-themed fag spas and travel agents. Fag elitism will become prevalent.  Resentment will rise as traditional Fagland withers and dies a slow agonizing death.
