The Decor

Think "Dark, Black & Clubbish" - at least FuelMix thinks that's what they want their customers to think.  After all, they renovated the place.

The reality on entering the premises?

Fetishly artsy, black-on-black, irritatingly twee, lit by candles with an annoying soundtrack.  That was the situation before the renovation too.  Let's get one thing perfectly straight. Black floors, black walls and black lockers require half-decent lighting. They couldn't have painted the inside of the lockers a lighter colour?  Anything black that goes into the lockers essentially goes into a Black Hole.  That's really intelligent.......... Don't bother looking for it. Just grope for it.

Question Number 1: how come the Locker Room area in Alexander, ABC and Gateway are so well lit?  Is Action the branch office that didn't get all the funds?

The Layout And Facilities

The Lockers - The lockers are on the left and a gay man with a hot body like FuelMix can be and was, watched by one of the Front Desk staff and a couple of customers in the Lounge while undressing.  Just don't get too excited.  Watching with attitude is definitely the name of the game here.  It's either Stand & Model or Sit & Model.

There's a cushioned bench and a lit vanity area in white with a small sink next to the Lockers. It's adequate.

The Wet Area - Showers, sauna and toilets are to the left of the Lockers, just beyond the entry Lounge. Beware the drain grate that runs the length of the showers and the sauna. It hurts the feet like hell. The showers are fun - oddly lit at floor level like a wet disco.  Since the renovation, the number of shower  heads have been reduced to 4.  2 are lit and 2 are behind a dark corner.  Water pressure is fine and FuelMix got action in the showers from an admirer.

The Dry Sauna - What used to be showers next to narrow windows looking out over the entry Lounge, have been replaced with a tiny dry sauna that sits about 4 people. The heating is fine and it could have action potential.  Peering thru the windows could be fun.

The Steam Room -  Next to the showers is the Steam Room. It seats 9 and FuelMix means that literally. There are 9 moulded seats in there and some floor space. Very steamy and hot, just like a Steam Room should be and FuelMix got some group action in there too.

The Toilets - 2 cubicles, urinal and a sink, moderately clean, nothing to rave about.

The Lounges - There are actually 4 Lounges in Action sauna:

(1) The Entry Lounge in Black that surveys the Locker Area and a wall mounted TV.  That TV is next to a corridor that leads to the other 2 Lounges.

(2)  Computer and Food Lounge - (prior to the renovation this was a communal play and porn area).  Now it's a respectable orange-coloured lounge with a row of computer screens, free drink dispensing machines, snacks and the ubiquitous bananas.  It's a pretty comfortable place to chill.

(3)  The Main TV Lounge - large flat screen TV, sofas and mags. Deathly quiet.

(4)  The Porn Lounge in the Dark Area with big mattresses, pillows and bench seating, showing a variety of porn.


The Dark Area - a corridor adjacent to the computer lounge and the TV lounge leads into the Dark Area. There's a small black seating area with 2 black chairs looking at a porn screen. Guys will cluster there and model. Again, expect attitude.  The Dark Area consists of the Porn Lounge and the Playrooms.

(1) The Porn Lounge - A small hallway from the black seating area leads into the Porn Lounge mentioned above.  This is actually a pretty decent sized play space.  Being the rampant exhibitionist, FuelMix really appreciated the servicing he got here by 2 guys while the motley chink attitudinal freaks stood and watched in stony silence.

(2)  The Play Rooms - Here's where the "Nude" Sauna bit in Action's advertising kicks in.  There are 10 playrooms - 8 standard sized, 1 with a sling and 1 with a sort of bench a fag can stand back and lean on, or sit on, to receive a blow job or even rimming.  Play rooms have floor mattresses, lube and condom dispensers.

To get into the Play Rooms, the fag has to hand over his towel to another attendant, whose sole purpose in life is to stare at cocks and hand out a plastic tag with a number. Retrieve the towel on leaving the area.

 Question Number 2:  why is it even necessary to do that? Neither Alexander, ABC or Gateway have such a stupid rule.  The only one that used to stipulate nudity in the Dark Area weekly was Towel Club and they went out of business..........

OK...the dark room has potential too, since it leads into a cluster of little private play rooms. But....the mirrors  in the play rooms have a huge distortion factor. It's like seeing a grotesque image of oneself in the fairground. In fact, ALL the fuckin' mirrors in Actions' play rooms have massive distortion.

Oh and one more thing.....good luck finding the light switches in them rooms.  FuelMix was so pissed off that something so elementary could have been made so difficult, that he's not going to tell his readers where they are.
