Don't bother relying on the local fag rags to give the 411 on this joint.  They either mis-spelt the name of the building, or fucked up the telephone number, or both.  It was a great start.

Getting There

Take the MTR Island Line to Wanchai station.  Follow the signs to Exit A4.

Exit A4 emerges onto the South side of Hennessy Road.  Face RIGHT and starting walking eastwards on Hennessy Road.  Wanchai as a district, is very local and very authentic.  Carry on walking straight down Hennessy Road until reaching the first cross street, which is Fleming Road.

Cross Fleming Road and continue walking straight along Hennessy Road until you see the Caltex gas station.  This is the junction of Hennessy Road and Johnston Road.  Effectively, Johnston Road ends there and Hennessy Road continues along the tram lines.  So, use the pedestrian crossing and continue walking eastwards along Hennessy Road, parallel to the trams.

The next cross street will be Heard Street.  Carry on walking straight.

No here's where it gets a little tricky.  As authentic as Wanchai is, it's also very crowded, festooned with neon signs and signboards, somewhat non-descript and a tough spot to point out any urban landmarks. After crossing Heard Street, the best that FuelMix can suggest is to start reading the street numbers on the buildings along Hennessy Road(if you can find them).


Why?.......because Kuo Wah Building, Number 340 Hennessy Road, is actually in a fuckin' side lane, that's why.  The local fag rags helpfully missed that small fact.

It's a beige building with a pokey little entrance.  Get in and look for the pokey little elevators on your left.  Hit the 4th Floor.

On reaching the 4th Floor, there's a curious brownish mosaic mural of amorous men.  The door to My Way Platinum is on your left.

Ring the door bell, get buzzed in, the attendants speak English (entirely unnecessary as the fascinated fag reader will shortly discover in subsequent posts in this series), pay coin and enter.
