Triggers of Fear And Hostility
"Individuals who identify as straight but in psychological tests show a
strong attraction to the same sex may be threatened by gays and lesbians
because homosexuals remind them of similar tendencies within
themselves,"
-----Netta Weinsten, University of Essex Is Some Homophobia Self-phobia? published by the University of Rochester 5 April 2012.
The above study jointly conducted by the University of Rochester in the state of New York, the University of Essex in England and the University of California in Santa Barbara, claims to be the first to:
"....document the role that both parenting and sexual orientation play in the formation of intense and visceral fear of homosexuals, including self-reported homophobic attitudes,
discriminatory bias, implicit hostility towards gays, and endorsement of
anti-gay policies."
To reiterate to fags who haven't got it yet, the study deals with those individuals who publicly identify themselves as straight but who are in fact having an internal conflict with their own repressed same-sex desires, which causes them to direct hostility towards gays and lesbians.
(And we're talking about a different homophobia to that which a thinking and self-acknowledged gay man feels when he looks at Faggotry and says, "OMG....if this is what it means to be gay, I'm not....")
