The Clientele And The Vibe
A large selection of early 20s chink twinks, many of whom had spent hours at the beach in skimpy Arenas, Speedos or gay-branded swimming trunks and were very suntanned.  There was evidence of tanning envy amongst them as they paraded around. Some had brought their attitude with the beach bags, others were more than happy to nibble on FuelMix. 

Chaps also appears to get the 30 something chink office crowd.  It's convenient to get to, in a very discreet location, away from the usual sauna clusters.

Chaps is owned by the same people who own Colony Sauna in Mong Kok which FuelMix has already reviewed in this blog.  The vibe in Chaps is that of an oasis for men - rather than the high voltage meat market of some of the other saunas in town.  But since it is open overnite on Saturdays, it might turn out to be humping on those nites.

The choice of piped music when FuelMix was there was either atrocious or hilarious.  Fucking a chink twink's face while Pavarotti warbled Nessun Dorma took some getting used to - but FuelMix was able to join Fat Lucy in that high note at about the same time.

FuelMix had no trouble getting action in Chaps in the same way as he had no trouble getting action in Colony Sauna.  And he went on a weekday evening.  It might not be massively crowded, but if the fag reader has a particular fetish for the Skinny Chink Twink look or the GAM professional office look, it can be found in Chaps.

It does take guts to open a sauna some distance away from the usual sauna cluster of Wanchai and Causeway Bay; and Chaps needs to be acknowledged for that.  FuelMix suggests that fags go and check it out at least once - if only to see the **ahem** decor for themselves.  Take a buddy.

Pros

• Easy to get to by MTR to North Point Station. 5 minute walk from there;
• Discreet location on drab residential street;
• Very friendly staff who speak excellent English;
• Clean (with the exception of that grubby looking toilet on Level 1);
• Lots of space to sit, lounge around or pad down to the porn room and recline there;
• Western gay porn on the screens;
• Action potential in both Levels of showers;
• Action potential in the Level 2 Lounges;
• Hot tub, steam room and dry sauna;
• Chink twinks and office crowd - if you're into that;
• Theme Nites (call beforehand);
• No TV, Internet or Karaoke;

Cons

• Not open 24 hours;
• No TV, Internet or Karaoke;
  
• No free food or drink (contrast Colony Sauna owned by the same people that give free pastries, tea and coffee);
• Might take a while to get action;
• Odd choice of music;
• Outrageously steep, narrow, wrought iron spiral staircase leading down to Level 2.
• That decor............

 Would FuelMix Go Back?

Yeah probably.  FuelMix likes quirky places now and again.  In any event, FuelMix would have to drop in to do a second review in the interests of fairness and accuracy.  Like Colony Sauna, this place would probably grow on the fag customer over time.
