Hi FM:

We travel to Hong Kong once every year or two and have benefited greatly from your candid reviews over the years, so we thought we'd contribute by sharing our observations from our recent visits to two establishments [FM: Jungle and Hutong] both in January 2018.

1.  Context  

We are two guys from Canada, one white one Chinese, both tall slim gym-fit hung early 30s passable as mid 20s. Our preference are guys around our age and younger, generally go for gym fit or slender, welcome action with any race as long as they are cute. Our assessment is provided through that lens. 

We have been to Jungle during previous trips and had fun with lots of young cute guys, so this was an easy pick for us. We went on a Wednesday night around 5pm and stayed till around 8.30pm. We picked Wednesday as google map stats show Wednesday to be the busiest weeknight. We were not disappointed. 

2.  Getting There and Entry 

Jungle is on Nathan Rd just a block north of Yau Ma Tei MTR [FM: actually about 3 blocks], very easy to get to and easy to find. The building's lobby looks quite modern, but it has only one very old elevator and Jungle is on the top floor, so it may take some waiting to get up. Once buzzed in, the staff is quite friendly and the admission process was hassle free. We paid $130 each and were given wristband (touch-less chip for the locker) and a small hand towel. As it turns out Wednesday is their "naked dark jungle" night. 

3.  Facilities / Layout

Overall the decor is modern and environment clean, though not super chic or trendy. Once past reception you are in a small living room/TV lounge area (with a private toilet in one corner) where six or seven people can comfortably congregate.  

The locker area is right next door and it is fairly small (would be pretty cramped if say eight or ten guys are changing at the same time). Lockers are half-length so tall enough to hang dress clothes if you are just off work. 

Next to it is the shower room with five or six fairly spread out shower. I thought it was pretty neat as a couple of the shower has clear view down to Nathan Rd. There are dry and wet saunas, and then a short hallway (with another private toilet) leading to the cruising area, with benches filled with guys playing on their phones and/or smoking. It does feel a bit on display walking to the cruising area as you have to walk pass the benches with the boys all look up as you walk by.

4.  Cruising Area   

FM you suggested that Jungle has one of the largest maze/play area in town, but I beg to differ. The play area is of decent size, but it didn't feel super big to me. Maybe it is because the layout is so simple that one inevitably walks around the same circle never getting lost. A new feature on this visit (not sure how new since our last visit was two years ago) is that chest height prison frame are installed at some of the pathways and doors to the porn room, so you have to bend down to walk through. They advertised this on their website so I suppose its a decor to give them an edgy feel. The frame looks pretty flimsy so I don't think they really added much. 

FuelMix says:  Best as we can tell, the 3 biggest cruising/maze areas are in Hutong, MyWay and Jungle.

The hallways in the play area are fairly narrow, two people need to walk side-way to pass each other (perhaps a structural feature to weed out overweight guys?) There are about 9 or 10 private playrooms, each stocked with condoms, lube packets, and toilet paper. Staff were fairly diligent in regularly cleaning and re-stocking.

5.  Crowd Demographics    

The crowd, as reported, consists of mostly young fit locals. Most guys are in their 20s, some literally look like teenagers, with a few in their 30s. On our last visit we met a couple of white guys, this trip we only saw HongKongers (did not come across any Mainland Chinese). Vast majority are either slender or toned/fit, with maybe a small handful that I would consider slightly chubby. Probably no one over 34" waist. Anyone that is fat or even bigger muscle built, or anyone over 40, would certainly be very out of place here.  

FuelMix says: Generally correct, although we have see more muscular guys there and people over 40, white and local Chinese, with good bodies who did get action.

6.  Crowd Interaction 

When we first arrived (around 5pm), there were maybe 15 or so people in the place, almost all of them sitting around playing with their phones.  Occasionally a boy or two would venture into the play area, but generally speaking the cruising area was quiet, some touching but not much action. 

After a couple [of] futile spins in the darkroom, we caught a cute gym-fit guy eyeing us, took him in a room and gangbanged him. While we were having hot fun, we did not hear much other action-noise in the surrounding area. 

That changed after 6pm or so when a steady stream of guys showed up. The private rooms started to get used, and there were a lot more guys cruising in the play area. The naked night theme worked pretty well for us, as we were both fairly hung. We split up and had our own fun, both found a number of guys to bang before we left. We are both committed vers, but somehow all the guys we hooked up with wanted to get fucked (not the case in our previous visit). Not complaining in any way, just a bit odd.

7.  Crowd Attitude

Overall we found the crowd to be friendly and ready to rumble. Like any sauna, there are always some guys who spend the whole time standing-&-modeling and acting like they are hot shit. But generally speaking the guys at Jungle are relatively low attitude and open to "engage".

Jungle is clean/well-maintained, busy, and lives up to its reputation as the locale with the younger, twinkish crowd. We had a great time. 

FuelMix says:    

1.  Thanks for the update.  You are correct in asserting that Jungle has a reputation for attracting the mainly younger, skinny to slim-fit twinkish crowd - but not exclusively.  We have seen and played with muscle-built Chinese college guys there.  

2.  Older, confident guys with good bodies, can certainly get action.   

3.  We have also seen white guys there.  As we've observed before, white guys tend to huddle in Central Escalator, with a few braver ones showing up at Hutong and MyWay.  Various GAMs have pointed out to us that since 1997, GWMs do not spread themselves amongst the saunas like they used to.  It's as if they've realized they're not that relevant anymore.  There may be some truth to that. 

4.  Getting action in Jungle takes time.  Those twinks are either chain-smoking, practising their attitude, or repeatedly eyeing you up as they walk past.  We were amazed just how many cigarettes they go through and what they will look like in 10 years.  Some already had a smoker's cough.

5.  Many of these local Chinese skinny twinks are bottoms. "Masculine" is NOT the word to describe them.  If they're not dying for a cigarette, they'll be dying to suck cock.
