The rumour mill has been grinding long and hard as to where the muscle guys from the now defunct Towel Club ended up.  FuelMix will simply say this:  He’s seen several of them in the afternoons and evenings hanging around Mong Kok, around the area of the 4 saunas (Alexander, Club Houzz, Double and Big Top).  Surprising thing was how badly they had aged in the year since Towel Club closed.  The only conclusion was that methamphetamines were part of their bodybuilding supplements.

Since Club Houzz sauna is across the street from Big Top, it’s worth pointing out that their premises are in a new industrial building, compared to other saunas located in old residential buildings.

Inflation is hitting Very Rich Megacity hard.  A couple of saunas have already raised their prices (Central Escalator and Galaxy).  If the usual price of  Big Top is HK$140.00 that now makes it the most expensive gay sauna in town.  To pay this on a regular basis requires more than décor and cocky ornaments.  It requires the consistent presence of hot guys.  

The “gym” is a gimmick and nothing more than a time filler while waiting for guys to show up.

Mong Kok is now competing with Tsim Sha Tsui and Wanchai / Causeway Bay as an area with gay sauna clusters.  It will be interesting to see how many survive and thrive.
