Understanding the Layout of K K Fitness

Size-wise, KK Fitness which takes up the whole 16^th Floor, appears to be a tad bigger than Galaxy.  Both are situated in old tenement buildings, not far from each other.

KK Fitness is in 3 parts.  Starting from the Front Door:

1. The Left Hand Side

Contains the main Reception Desk, 2 Karaoke Rooms, the Vanity Counter, the Lockers, the toilet, the free computers, TV Lounge with a bookshelf of Oriental porn.

Pull back the curtains at the back of the TV lounge to find a small shower area with a narrow rectangular Steam Room, a porn room (playing Western gay porn) and an L-shaped Dark Area with private cubicles.

2.  The Roof

Ascend the ultra steep Star Ferry Green steps (more on the Star Ferry bit later) and emerge onto a huge roof that faces South towards Tsim Sha Tsui and the harbour.  At the top of the steps is a majong room.  The rest of the roof is a smoking area with seating, clothes lines for the bath towels of course and rows of washing machines.  There’s also a toilet up on the roof.

It’s an interesting place to chill out, even though it appears to have illegal structures and illegal wiring on it.

3.  The Right Hand Side

A small TV lounge, 2 more Karaoke rooms, a larger Wet Area with showers, toilets and a Dry Sauna, a smaller gay porn lounge (showing Jap porn) and another Dark Area with private cubicles.

Décor And Ambience 

The colour scheme of KK Fitness is Green -  with a downmarket shabby industrial look . In the Wet Areas (there are 2 Wet Areas) the Green is paired with steel paneling, identical to the steel flooring found on old buses and boats.  That green industrial look bears a striking resemblance to the Lower Deck of the Star Ferry and might even make a customer feel sea sick.

Vinyl couches in brown and black are found everywhere in the seating areas.  The design ethos is “nothing matches and we don’t really care”.  Even the floor tiles change colour.

There are also lockers behind the Reception Desk.  An unsuspecting customer will therefore be treated to the sight of fags changing right next to the Front Desk staff.

The Private Cubicles

The Private cubicles are a huge disappointment and were the smallest FuelMix had seen anywhere.  They really are shabby (in light blue with Star Ferry Green everywhere else, go figure……..) terrible lighting, no mirrors and a tiny shelf with grubby plastic boxes of condoms.  Pick up the lube from the Reception Counter.  They have tiny little double doors that really make them look like closets.  Very uninviting.

The Wet Areas

The Wet Areas are adequately lit and claustrophobic.  The larger Wet Area with more showers and the Dry Sauna – that Star Ferry Green and steel again -  can be closed off.  For some bizarre reason, the toilets are in Navy Blue.

There’s a general feeling of grubbiness in the Wet Area.  If a fag has seen the showers in Galaxy or QQ Fitness – and they’re really grubby – KK Fitness is on a larger scale.
