Pricing in Alexander?

So.......after a fairly decent interval, FuelMix showed up at Alexander on Friday 7 September 2012 about 9pm.  There was the sign stuck on the Reception Desk saying "Admission Fee HK$150.00"..........FuelMix got charged HK$130.00........yeah go figure.........that's the same price he's always paid.  But that's no guarantee that's the price anyone else has paid......


Clientele

It was packed with different ages - not surprising for a Friday night. But there was a very high EEEEeeeWWWwww factor and a major case - and we do mean major case - of the Fuglies. The place was swarming with Mainland Chinese offset by the attitudinal local chinks.  Both were coming through the door every few minutes.  They'd strip and then chain smoke near the toilets.

There were a few white guys there. But since they were Fugly too, they didn't have a hope in hell and stood around like sandwiches in search of a picnic.

Given the disappointing and startlingly Fugly clientele, action was limited to the darkest corners of the jam-packed Steam Room.  Presumably the logic was that if one couldn't or wouldn't look at their faces, then anything from the waist down was fair game.

Again it has to be said, there has been a definite increase in the age of Alexander's clientele.  That's not a bad thing and it's good to be open minded. But on that Friday nite, Fugly was still Fugly - whatever the age.

FuelMix was not thrilled and left an hour later for Big Top where he had a blast.


Customer Feedback Form

A recent feature in all the saunas in this group (Alexander, ABC, Action and Gateway) has been the introduction of a Customer Feedback Form.  In Alexander it's located on the wall just above the ice cream cooler, near the 2 computers. The bilingual form is entitled, "Complaints & Comments".

The 2 main areas covered in the form are Staff Attitude and Store Environment.  There are 4 choices:

• Fucking Shitty
• So So
• OK La
• Well Done

There's also space for other comments as well as a request by the management for the complaining customers contact details.

The notion of a gay sauna in Very Rich Megacity inviting feedback is certainly novel. We suspect others will follow suit. It could be competition from other saunas, a desire to improve or that uncomfortable feeling that - finally -  their business, their facilities, their cleanliness, the food they offer, their staff attitude, their pricing policy and the look of their clientele are being accurately examined and exposed by Not-So-Humble bloggers and their readers.

We are living in a fast changing world are we not? Being a passive (gay) consumer doesn't cut it anymore.
