No MSG, But.....

Meanwhile on it's way to becoming a world power.....

35 restaurants across China have been found illegally using opium as seasoning in their food, state officials say.

Five restaurants are being prosecuted over the findings, whilst 30 more are under investigation, according to the China Food and Drug Administration.

The eateries include a popular chain of hot pot restaurants in Beijing.

It is unclear how the opium came to enter the food, however, previous cases in China have seen chefs try to ‘hook’ customers on their food through use of the narcotic which can cause serious addiction.

In 2014, a failed drugs test led Shaanxi provincial police to uncover a noodle seller deliberately lacing meals with opium.

In 2004, a string of 215 restaurants in the Guizhou region were closed down following similar charges.

According to the official news agency Xinhau, poppy powder is available to buy in China at $60 or approximately £42 per kilogram.

It is commonly mixed with chilli oil and powders, which make it difficult for authorities to detect.

FuelMix says:

1. We call bullshit on this article.  It appears to be sloppy reporting and white sensationalism - all part of the subtle anti-China meme we've noticed for a while.

2.  Note in particular the sloppy use of opium and poppy powder, as if the 2 were the same.  They're not.

3.  The poppy plant produces opium, whose derivatives include morphine, codeine, heroin and oxycodone. The unripe poppy seed pod growing in the poppy fields naturally secretes a milky fluid.

  • That fluid is scraped off after the petals drop off.
  • The fluid is mixed with calcium solution and hot water in large barrels. Stirred vigorously and left to settle for hours.
  • The clear liquid that forms on the top contains morphine and is siphoned off into another container. A binding chemical is added to the clear liquid which is then returned to the barrels and heated. The chemical binds to the morphine causing it to sink to the bottom of the barrel.
  • The contents of the barrel are stirred and filtered out.  The residue is dried in the sun, resulting in a brown morphine base.
  • Morphine base mixed with another chemical solution and heated until it turns black. It is then cooled down, quenched with water and filtered to remove impurities.
  • In separate container, sodium carbonate is dissolved in water, then added to the morphine base and stirred to create heroin base.
  • Heroin base is mixed with more chemical solutions, including charcoal and water. Stirred and filtered multiple times to remove charcoal.  Resulting residue is dried.
  • Another chemical is added to the dried heroin base and then filtered.
  • The final dried product is white heroin hydrochloride - or powdered white heroin. Ready to be snorted, smoked or injected.
4.  We got all that plus the image from the US Drug Enforcement Museum Website.

5.  Oh.....and years ago, we were reliably informed by our genial (white) computer techhie - himself a recovered heroin and meth addict - that heroin is really bitter to the taste.  So how that could be added to noodles or mixed with chili oil without anyone noticing, is a mystery to us.

6.  Further, the poppy flower also has black poppy seeds inside the pod.  They too are harvested and can either be crushed or used as is.  They are found widely in the food industry.......you dumb faggots never had a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese....???

7.  In some countries like Singapore, anyone wishing to import poppy seeds e.g. for their bakery business, must first submit a sample for testing and approval to the Health Sciences Authority, who then forward the report to the Central Narcotics Bureau.  If the report is clear and no traces of morphine detected, the Central Narcotics Bureau will endorse and approve the Inward Declaration Form. Sounds fair to us.

8.  The sloppy reporting by the Independent doesn't actually say what was in the food, other than using words like "narcotic", "opium as seasoning", "poppy powder".  Total fuckin' confusion.

9.  Don't expect the white bitch who wrote it to issue a clarification, retraction or an apology. She needs the social media following to appear relevant......
