FuelMix dropped into Colony Sauna on a Saturday evening for their Nude Nite which starts from 8pm. Steady stream of guys came in, mainly GAMs in their 20s and 30s.  Not the hottest guys around but some had gym toned bodies.  Also a handful of overseas educated GAMs there too so English was not a problem.

Everyone was pretty quiet, not attitude – just the vibe of the place is different to other saunas. Music playing was Easy Listening stuff from the 70s plus Nora Jones.  Having a shower while listening to Don Maclean’s “Vincent” was kinda interesting.

This place is squeaky clean and is the cleanest gay sauna in town.  It’s elegantly decorated without being overpowering.

When Nude Nite starts they dim the lights in the main Living Room.  There’s a wrap around balcony with cushioned wicker couches and plenty of candles.  Privacy is assured through high fencing, canopies and REAL !!! plants. (Those from Very Rich Megacity will catch the joke).  Although the traffic noise from Prince Edward Road is horrifying, the candlelit ambience on the balcony is very soothing.  Guys go there to smoke and chill.  After a while it’s possible to tune out the traffic noise.  The balcony is a discreet place to make out or if you’re as hot as FuelMix, to get a massage from an adoring customer (or 2).

Eventually FuelMix got some really good action with a young GAM in his mid-20s so nothing to complain about there.

Unlike say, Alexander Sauna, which is also clean, good fun and (if timed right), has the vibe of a raging meat market, Colony Sauna’s vibe is much more understated.  It is possible to get satisfying action, but you’ll have to wait more patiently for it.

Truth be told, FuelMix likes this place precisely because it’s clean, understated and elegant. He likes Alexander too **snicker**.

FuelMix suggests that more fags – particularly tourists and whites – give Colony Sauna a shot.  As mentioned above, overseas educated GAMs are showing up regularly.  So far the management has played their cards right in claiming to carve out a distinct niche sauna with a very individual vibe.

There’s also free pastries, herb teas and free Wi-Fi if you want to bring your notebook or smart phone.

Warning:  the steps leading to the Loft in the Dark Area can be difficult to see properly and can be very slippery with lube. The management needs to put hand rails on that damn ladder.  The next time you're there, complain about it like hell and telephone them as well.  FuelMix has seen a couple of fags take a very nasty fall.  Watch out and complain about it.
