What's In A Name?

Oh dear.....it seems that the "special relationship" between God's Own Country and its ass-licking poodle across the Atlantic, The Nanny Kingdom, is under some strain. A massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico isn't helping since one of the companies originates in The Nanny Kingdom.

Now that former-community activist- law professor President Mutt* 44 says he wants to "kick ass" [his words], after nearly 8 weeks of well........not much......, his words are being interpreted as "anti-British", "insulting", "damaging"and "risking the financial lives of British pensioners" who rely on BP for their retirement income.

Any president is a politician first who has to account to the lowest common denominator and opinion polls clamoring for Crisis Leadership.  He has to be seen to be saying the right things, photographed in the right places, looking concerned while examining tar balls on the beach, that kinda thing.

But it doesn't help to refer to the company as "British Petroleum".  They changed their name to "BP" about 12 years ago.  If Mutt* 44 and his minions persist in referring to the company as "British Petroleum", it adds to the ire of the perceived anti-Nanny Kingdom sentiment.

As much as FuelMix maintains that white man is entirely over-rated and entirely deserving of derogatory epithets, when he addresses them by name, he gets their name right.

*Mutt = his own word to describe himself.
