2014 - Nigeria changes the base-year calculation of GDP for the years 1990 - 2010.  Overnight, Nigeria's economy "grew"......89% and leapfrogged South Africa to become Africa's largest economy;

2014 - Italy to include prostitution, smuggling and illegal drug sales in GDP calculation from 2014 onwards and adjust prior year figures;

Look, the economies of the West are so fucked that the politicians and bankers are trying to hoover up anything that will appear to boost GDP (at least on paper) so that it doesn't look so bad in relation to......DEBT!!! Then,  they're trying to export the "methodology" to other (white) countries and then ultimately the world....

How is this "methodology" justified....? Simple, just assume that while the government won't get the ( income tax) benefits of those who charge for cock and cocaine, (except where the hookers are registered as official sex workers), the money they receive for their "services" will be spent in the consumer economy (new panties, fishnet stockings, bling for the dealer) plus the government will get the "benefits" via sales tax on their purchases..........

It's desperation, pure and simple.  You can dress it up all you like but it's flatly impossible to acquire raw, hard data on cock and cocaine.

.....And there's something even more interesting about all this statistical inclusion of whores and snow.  Historically either or both were tinged with illegality.  Now that they are gently being inserted as economic indicators of GDP, concepts of "illegality" and "societal harm" are giving way to pleasantly sounding notions of "victimless crimes".

(That's why the almost overnight legalization of marijuana in the West was we think, a test case for how to deal with drugs in a manner that maximizes profit (for the big corporations, not you) - and "apparent" economic growth).

But think about this....isn't the inclusion and guesstimation of whores and snow - without any real or meaningful empirical data - simply to boost GDP in relation to debt, an economic deception in which all of us are victims...??
